How does EdgeProt's DDoS protection work?

Our protection operates at the network edge using XDP (eXpress Data Path) hooks that process packets before they reach the kernel stack. This allows us to inspect and filter traffic at line rate at up to 30+ Tbps of aggregate scrubbing capacity. We combine stateful connection tracking, behavioral analysis, and protocol-specific deep packet inspection to distinguish legitimate traffic from attacks in real time.

We mitigate the full spectrum of DDoS attack vectors: Layer 3 volumetric floods (UDP amplification, ICMP, GRE), Layer 4 protocol attacks (SYN floods, ACK floods, TCP state exhaustion), Layer 7 application attacks (HTTP floods, DNS query floods), and game-specific attacks (A2S floods, RakNet connection floods). Our filter library includes many continuously updated mitigation profiles.

With 8 global PoPs, traffic is routed to the nearest scrubbing center via Anycast, minimizing path overhead. Most customers see no measurable latency difference and even better latency at times.

Yes. Every customer gets access to our real-time analytics dashboard showing live traffic graphs, attack event timelines, filtered packet counts by vector, source geo-distribution, and per-filter hit rates. This is all provided through Grafana which allows for you to setup your own integrations.

We maintain a 99.9% uptime SLA across our entire network. Each Point of Presence is built with N+1 redundancy, diverse upstream transit providers, and automatic failover. In the unlikely event of a PoP failure, traffic is seamlessly rerouted to the next-nearest location via Anycast.
